BALLROOM DANCE

This series will introduce the American Smooth styles of waltz, foxtrot, and tango. Hihgly recommended for anyone new to social dancing, these progressive (travelling) dances are the core foundation for strengthening posture, dance frame, partner connection, and musicality which are the basic fundamentals for all forms of social dance. Waltz, foxtrot, and tango are the most popular ballroom dances today.

Waltz
Romantic, elegant dance executed in steps of three. The waltz was born in Vienna as one of the first partner dances and today remains the most popular.

Foxtrot
Classic four-step all American dance invented by Harry Fox; perfect at weddings, social occasions or for anyone who loves Frank Sinatra.

Tango
Passionate, sensual dance developed in Buenos Aires incorporates dramatic leg action and close embraces.

LATIN DANCE

This series will introduce the American Rhythm styles of Salsa, Merengue and Cha Cha. Classes will focus on Cuban motion, musicality, hip action, and coordination. Salsa, Merengue and Cha Cha are danced both in ballrooms and in night clubs worldwide.

Salsa
Originating from Cuba and continuously evolving in New York City, patterns incorporate sexy Cuban motions with small, quick steps.

Merengue
The basic steps in the merengue are fast, fun, and easy to learn with emphasis on the energetic rhythm of the music. It is the national dance of the Dominican Republic.

Cha Cha
This Cuban dance with two slow and three quick steps became popular in America during the 1950's and has sustained its popularity amongst dancers and musicians worldwide.

SWING

This series will begin with the single rhythm footwork of East Coast Swing. Students will first be introduced to six-count patternss and will later progress to 8-count patterns and more intricate footwork as seen in Smooth Swing and Lindy. Hailing from Harlem in the 1930s, swing is a fun, infectious, all-American circular dance.

TEEN SOCIAL DANCE

This series will introduce students to the fundamentals of Swing, Salsa, and Ballroom. In addition to learning steps and patterns, students will also improve posture, confidence, and social skills.

Salsa
Originating from Cuba and continuously evolving in New York City, patterns incorporate Cuban motion with small, quick steps.

Swing
This class will study the single rhythm footwork of East Coast Swing which originated in Harlem in the 1930s.
